 ERLC plan to support implementation based on regional needs and grant deliverables

Collaboration/Environmental Scan/Needs Assessment

  • Session feedback and ongoing needs assessment.
  • ERLC board.
  • Consult with districts about needs.
  • ERLC consultation needs to occur.
  • Consultation with key Alberta Education Lead Managers and Directors to determine direction.

Practice/Goals

  • Alberta Education grant deliverables.
  • Key elements of framework – initial work may be related to awareness of the framework.
  • Regional Goals specific to work of ERLC (i.e. Program of Studies, Instruction and Assessment).

Identify Possible Strategies

  • To be determined – e.g. workshops and use of DL strategies and approaches.

Action Plan and Measures

  • Need to consult with region and receive direction from Alberta Education.

Implement Action Plan

  • Budget - $5000.00 as well as infrastructure support provided from grant.
  • Existing grant from Pan Canadian Literacy forum.

Summative Evaluation

  • Program feedback
  • ERLC Board, District contact, and potential Advisory Committee feedback.
  • Summary report to Alberta Education.

  • Competing priorities limit need for programming n this area.
  • Development of series of webinar sessions based on Pan Canadian Literacy videos began.  Preparation of these PD materials prior to release of Alberta Education action plan have potential to support implementation as soon as plan is released.
