AllPart 1 - Google Workspace - make it work for you
This session will focus on how to use Google Workspace tools to demonstrate collaboration and differentiation within an inclusive learning environment. Through a sample Google Classroom, which you would sign up for and attend as sample students during the session, you will be guided through the following topics:
- Collaboration and Differentiation through Keep, Docs and Slides - create accessible learning opportunities for all learners
- Time management with Mail, Tasks and Calendar - create clarity in your workflow
- Construct knowledge together in Jamboard
- Represent learning and create resources with Screencastify (and we will thread in some Awesome Screenshot practice throughout)
- Pull all together through sample assignments in Google Classroom - join our sample Classroom, and engage "at the side of your student" (simulation) in instructional processes that challenge you (and eventually them) to use ALL of the above tools
Part 2 - Reading and Writing Unbound with Read&Write for Google Chrome, Google Translate, Rewordify and more!
In this afternoon workshop, learn how to support students' reading and writing by using this world-class UDL online tool within Google Docs, Slides, Forms, on the web and on PDF's and even within Google Classroom. Why? Removing obstacles to reading and writing development by unobtrusively personalizing support with text to speech (and vice versa), personalized dictionaries and language support, audio "voice note" support on the fly or via pre-provided MP3 files, predictive text, highlighting to mark up and collate text for so many purposes, screen overlays, dictionaries...and so much more, all within one tool (plus a couple of extra addons and sites) not only supports sudents learning in today's classrooms, but also provides us, as the adults in the room, with strategies we can leverage to provide a more inclusive learning experience for all our students, wherever they may be.
