Learning Opportunities

Are you a teacher of French whose oral language skills could use a workout? Perhaps your French is out of shape or your confidence level could use an energy boost. Maybe you are not a teacher at all and just want to dust off your high school French to put it to good use. 

Whatever the reason, exercise your oral French skills in a fun, low-stress, virtual environment where all participants seek to strengthen their language proficiency. The only prerequisites: You’ve had some French instruction in the past and are willing to take risks and laugh at your inevitable erreurs.

Sessions will be organized around engaging oral communicative activities. (Bonus: Teachers will be able to adapt and use the activities with students of any age, language level or French program.) Participants will spend much of their time in virtual breakout rooms speaking French with one or two other people. The whole group will gather briefly in between activities, and partners will change each time.

Participants of any level are welcome and can actively engage in all activities. Please self-identify a level upon registration to help with grouping:

Level 1: My confidence and/or French proficiency level significantly impacts the clarity of my oral French communication.
Level 2: My confidence and/or French proficiency level does not significantly impact the clarity of my oral French communication.
