Day 3 - May 13th
Practical Descriptive Feedback Techniques and Ways to Minimize Copying, Cheating, and Plagiarizing
More than a lot of things we do, including grading, helpful feedback has become a critical factor in student success in all subjects. Teachers want students to monitor their own progress, develop self-efficacy, and become more active than passive in their learning: Descriptive feedback is powerful on all three fronts. Absent constructive feedback and the chance to revise learning in light of it, formative assessments are frustrating exercises in what might have been, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Join us for an engaging PD session on principles of effective and descriptive feedback as well as specific feedback techniques teachers can use in the classroom and with remote instruction. Because of teachers’ rising concerns, we’ll also look at specific steps educators can take to reduce students’ copying, cheating, and plagiarizing assignments while working at home as well as how to help parents refrain from, “over-assisting,” their children in their studies. ‘A powerful and timely session, mark your calendars to attend this one today!
