March 8, 2020 - Pre Conference Workshop (Presented in partnership with Kids Code Jeunesse and Parkland School Division)

Code Create Teach: Teacher Training
This free, full-day workshop provides educators with the tools to explore and learn computational thinking, basic coding and artificial intelligence, while providing ideas for how to bring these into the classroom. Designed for beginners, this workshop demystifies 21st century technology by putting concepts into practice with hands on activities and simple modules that can fit into any lesson plan. Participants will leave with the confidence that they can become creators, not just consumers of technology, and that they can empower their students to do the same.

*Each teacher who attends, will receive one free micro:bit to take back to their classroom! In addition, there will be a draw at the end of the day to send three lucky teachers home with a classroom set of micro:bits.

Cost: FREE
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Parkland School Division’s Centre for Education, 4603 48 St, Stony Plain, Alberta
