Learning Opportunities

Teachers of French often have few opportunities to converse en français with colleagues, so why not create your own opportunity? In this unconventional French conversation group, you choose when, where and how to commit to a monthly one hour conversation in French with a colleague. Keep a log of the times you meet in-person or virtually, and receive an end of year participation certificate of participation from ERLC to add to your PD portfolio.

Grab a colleague or two and join the Parlons français: Personal French Conversation Group together. Pas de partenaire? Pas de problème! When you register for the group, you will be sent a form to collect information about your preferences and comfort level in French which we will use to find you a conversation partner. 

Every month, group members will receive a suggested conversation starter that you can choose to use. Decide when, where and how you will hold your one hour conversation each month: after school in the staff room, at a coffee shop on a Saturday morning, via two 30 minute noon hour video chats, etc. Then log in your conversation. Lastly, consider trying out the conversation starter activity with your students. 

These sessions will take place in French.
