Krista Yuskow has her Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University and has over 20 years of experience in the clinical and educational settings. Over the course of her career she has worked in several environments in the U.S., New Zealand and Canada, delivering audiological services to patients of all ages. Since 1999, Krista has been working at Edmonton Public Schools as an Educational Audiologist. Her career experience focuses on auditory access for children 2.5 - 20 years of age with a more recent focus on the relationship between hearing loss and self-determination. Krista has held lecturer and instructor positions at the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University and she continues to lecture extensively about educational audiology issues. Krista is an active member of the Educational Audiology Association. She is a regular contributor to Support Success for Children with Hearing Loss and is the audiology consultant to Brainworks, a Kids with Cancer program that supports childhood cancer survivors in their home, school and work environments.
Carmel Walsh is a Educational (Teacher ) Consultant for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Carmel received her Masters Degree in Education for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing from the University of Alberta. She has worked in the field for over 25 years delivering services to infants and students from 3 years old to grade 12 throughout the province of Alberta .. Carmel has worked as an itinerant teacher in private practice and as a consultant with Edmonton Regional Educational Consulting Services, and most recently with Eastern Edge RCSD. During her career, Carmel has developed courses and taught at the post secondary level at Red Deer College and been called on as guest lecturer at the University of Alberta. She has provided services to young adults in the Kids with Cancer Program and has been a mentor to many new Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing entering the field. .She is currently part of Alberta Education’s Province Wide Low Incidence Team. She is dedicated to promoting the education and social-emotional well-being if the students she serves.
After receiving her graduate degree in Deafness Studies, Jacque Dahlen pursued a teaching position at Lendrum School with Edmonton Public Schools as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. While continuing to teach at Lendrum School she instructed an evening course at the University of Alberta, Introduction to Deafness, for fourth year Educational Psychology students. Currently, she is a Teacher Consultant for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with Edmonton Regional Collaborative Service Delivery and Inclusive Learning with Edmonton Public Schools. She has been consulting and supporting students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in inclusive educational programs for thirteen amazing years. In addition to her work in the Edmonton region, this year she is supporting students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the Wood Buffalo RCSD in Fort McMurray as well, working with Alberta Education with the Low-Incidence Provincial Team.
