How exciting is this!!?? Pipe ceremony! Indigenous teachings and dialogue! A traditional Indigenous Feast!  Oral history shared by Elder Jerry Saddleback! Treaty simulator activity!  Dr. Diana Steinhauer, who will provide the keynote presentation about Treaty 6, from an Indigenous perspective.

Join us for this experiential, interactive and engaging day, where you will deepen your understanding of the Indigenous perspectives on Treaty. As a special treat, you will be invited to participate in a traditional feast during the lunch break.  The session will end with guided discussion on how to apply the teachings in your educational context.  

As a result of this engaging and interactive day, you will walk away with a deeper understanding of Treaty, our relationships to the land, and each other.

Women are asked to wear long skirts for ceremony

Target Audience

K- 12 teachers, department heads, assistant principals, principals

Please bring a cushion to sit on for the ceremonies. Those who cannot sit on the floor will be accommodated! Women are asked to wear long skirts for ceremony
