AllPedagogical Documentation is the practice of making the learning and thinking of children visible to others. Through the process of documentation, both students and teachers reflect on their journey of learning and possible next steps. Pedagogical Documentation supports Emergent Curriculum practices in Early Childhood Programs.
During this session we will identify:
- what Pedagogical Documentation is and is not
- why we document
- who documentation if for
- where documentation is displayed and/or stored
- when we use documentation
- how we document
We will explore various examples of documentation and discuss the benefits and challenges within each example. Through the use of Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Curriculum Framework and The Alberta Kindergarten Program Statement, we will link Pedagogical Documentation with the planning and assessment cycle.
