Participants will have an opportunity to examine and take home a basic edu-kit to support Education for Reconciliation. These kits will support you in building your students’ Indigenous foundational knowledge through the Social Studies, Science and Mathematics Programs of Study.  You are invited to attend this session to:

  • apply a critical lens to review the resources in your kit (a combination of videos, literature, materials for activities and more!)
  • discuss the purpose/scope of the kits and connect  to the Teaching Quality Standard, Indigenous ways of knowing and learning, and current/new curriculum;
  • work with colleagues to identify additional resources to build students' Indigenous understandings.  Time will be set aside for you to share Indigenous resources you have successfully used in your classroom, that could be added to your kit.
  • plan how you will use the resources in your kit throughout the year.

Walk away with a kit that is ready to use in your classroom context  the very next day!
