Kim Tackaberry is a Designer of Professional Learning with the Calgary Regional Consortium, areas of focus include literacy and inclusive education. Her teaching career spans over 28 years, ten as a classroom teacher at Foothills Academy Society, a school specializing in children with Learning Disabilities and ADHD. After a decade of classroom experience, Kim's role as Professional Development and Parent Education Manager shifted to supporting professional learning for educators. She has designed and created several e-learning opportunities such as Learning Disabilities e-course, Introduction to Literacy and Numeracy Progressions and What are Literacy & Numeracy? Kim is passionate about coaching teachers, particularly when their students are struggling with learning how to read. Apart from founder, Dr Rick Freeze, she is the sole Precision Reading presenter in North America.

By using the Literacy Continuum in a strategic, thoughtful way, we will guide your thinking as to how responsive teaching can meet students where they are and brings them forward with intention and understanding. Join us for a full day exploring how this resource can inform gaps in your students learning, support writing IEP’s and share student’s development with parents.
