Ulana Soletsky was a classroom teacher for 26 years and for the past 9 years has held the position of Math Facilitator, Math Coordinator, A.I.S.I. Coordinator and most recently Numeracy Coordinator for Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. During the past 10 years she has also worked directly with the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium offering Professional Development in the area of Math and Numeracy. A key component of her work involves collaboration with school administration teams and at-elbow support to K-9 teachers in the area of Math and Numeracy. Her focus is primarily around curriculum support as well as planning for staff development and school improvement. Ulana demonstrates passion about math education, and wants to see all students motivated and successful in mathematics and, as a result become numerate members of society.

While we talk about spatial reasoning, what does the term really mean? During this interactive workshop, we will focus on activities for building experiences in the five key strands related to geometry and spatial reasoning:
- Symmetry
- Composing, Decomposing, and Transforming Two-Dimensional Figures
- Composing, Decomposing, and Transforming Three-Dimensional Objects
- Locating, Orienting, Mapping, and Coding
- Perspective Taking
You will leave the workshop armed with activities to do with your students the very next day.
