TouchChat is a full-featured communication solution for individuals who have difficulty using their natural voice. TouchChat is designed for individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, ALS, apraxia, stroke, or other conditions that affect a person's ability to use natural speech.

This is full-day TouchChat training include:

  • Review of all language sets/program options available in TouchChat (word power, gateway, quick chat, my chat, talk-about-aac) - discussion on selecting vocabulary sets for different needs
  • Detailed information about editing and customizing vocabulary sets – with hands on examples
  • Tips for editing on a computer and Ipad and transferring programming between devices
  • Using IShare to back up system
  • Troubleshooting issues related to TouchChat – staff would be encouraged to bring specific challenges/issues they have faced
  • Using paper/low tech backup & supportive systems
  • Strategies & ideas to build capacity for staff working with children using TouchChat on IPads & communication devices
  • Case studies/consultations as time permits

IMPORTANT! Please bring fully charged iPad with the TouchChat app already loadedAs well, if you have a laptop available, please also bring with you and download this free software https://touchchatapp.com/apps/touchchat-windows-editor. The presenter will demonstrate editing on the computer as well.
