AllThis hands on session is designed to support teachers who have students in Grades 3-6 who are new to writer’s workshop as well as teachers who work with English Language Learners or students who are below grade level.
Come learn how to implement a Writing Workshop including daily routines, classroom management, lesson ideas and assessment practices. Narrative, Informational and Opinion texts will be discussed.
Practical strategies and applications will be shared from the new resource: Up The Ladder for Teaching Writing Grades 3-6 (2017) by Lucy Calkins. For more information about this resource, click here.

Target Audience
Gr 3-6 ELA Teachers, Any Gr 7-9 teachers working with students to strengthen writing skills (e.g. English Language Learners, Inclusive Education, and/or First Nations, Métis and Inuit Students)
