Lana Lane is an Independent Literacy Consultant. She has been a classroom teacher of Pre K-Gr. 2, an Instructional Literacy Coach K-12 and subs K-9 to keep her work current with students. She has taught in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan. She currently contracts with the Alberta Learning Network and is a facilitator of the Reading Readiness Screening Tool for the LDAA (Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta). Lana has spent numerous years studying the five essential elements of effective reading instruction: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary and Comprehension. Somehow Literacy always finds her, and she enjoys sharing this passion with others.

AllWords Their Way in primary and elementary classrooms is an interactive approach to Phonics, Spelling and Vocabulary. It can be an alternative to the traditional spelling program or an addition to phonics and word work.
This session will provide an overview of the program, how to assess spelling levels, and how to group students for differentiated instruction in interactive and fun WORD SORTS.
