Sandra Gluth is an educator with many years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs. Prior to joining Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium, Sandra was on secondment to Alberta Education as a Curriculum Manager in Inclusive Education. Sandra also worked as a learning technologies consultant with Edmonton Public Schools where she was able to combine her passion for teaching and learning with using technologies to support literacy learning and the success of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.

AllNumeracy as well as literacy is fundamental to student success. However, many students with significant disabilities lack a sound foundation in early mathematical skills and knowledge necessary to be numerate and to confidently and effectively use numeracy to meet the everyday demands of life.
This workshop will focus on early mathematical skills that support numeracy development for students with significant disabilities including visualizing to support the learning of math facts and making real-life math connections. Participants will leave with a wealth of ideas, strategies, and learning activities to support mathematical and numeracy learning for their students.
