AllThe Alberta K-12 Proficiency Benchmarks are a useful tool teachers can use to assess students’ English language proficiency. Understanding the Benchmarks will not only help teachers plan effectively for the English Language Learners (ELL) in their class but also provide teachers with essential knowledge on how students acquire a second language.
In this interactive session, you will explore what the Benchmarks are and discuss strategies for efficiently and effectively Benchmarking ELLs. Specific strategies for each level of ELLs and some useful tools to support ELLs in your class are just some of the “take-aways” of this day.
