Karissa Potiuk has been teaching French as a Second Language for eight years. She has taught at various levels including university, high school and junior high, and has worked with beginners to advanced learners. She is especially interested in increasing student motivation by integrating their background cultures in the language classroom and decentralizing language learning.

4-6, 7-9, 10-12In this session, we will discuss the benefits of using learning centres in the second language classroom, explore different ways we can set up centres, identify procedures that will facilitate using centres, and brainstorm possible centers we could design for our classrooms.
Karissa will highlight her favourite centres that she uses in her classes and will share successes and lessons learned.
