Students love to play games. This session will provide ideas for building conceptual understanding and fluency through the use of carefully designed games that allow students to explore number concepts, place value, patterns and other mathematical concepts. Ideas for incorporating games into mathematics lessons to explore mathematical ideas, develop mathematical skills and processes and for practice and consolidation of concepts will be shared.

Games also help support a home—school connection and help students to develop self-confidence and a positive towards mathematics.

Come join the fun. This is a hands-on session where you will play many games and share ideas for modifying these games for use in your own classrooms.
