Sherri Johnston has been a teacher for over 20 years. She has her M.Ed. in Elementary Literacy and is passionate about reading. She served as a district literacy consultant in Elk Island Public Schools for ten years where she supported both English and French Language Arts teachers. Sherri has taught all subjects, Grades 4 – 9, including three years as a teacher-librarian. She is currently on secondment with the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium and is pleased to support K-12 Literacy.

7-9This series is designed to support teachers with fundamental questions:
- how to get students using their language skills;
- how to make sense of the extensive curriculum documents;
- where to find supporting materials, lessons and performance tasks aligned to our program of studies;
- and how to create a thriving, engaging, inclusive FSL program.
Ready-made lessons, performance tasks, and FSL resource sites as well as helpful digital tools will be shared. Although most of the sessions will be delivered in English, you will speak French in small, low risk partner activities and experience a variety of games, activities and conversation structures that promise to get students moving, having fun and enjoying speaking in French.
