Dr. Kim Zebehazy is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. She is co-coordinator of the teacher of students with visual impairments program and coordinator of the graduate certificate in Orientation and Mobility. Kim is a certified low vision therapist (CLVT) and a certified orientation and mobility specialist (COMS). She has been teaching at UBC for 7 years and started the graduate certificate in O&M, with the third cohort currently in the program.

AllThis webinar presentation will cover the differentiation of roles for developing and supporting O&M skills between the teacher of the students with visual impairments and the O&M specialist. The presentation will also cover considerations of how O&M should be incorporated in the schools and community and what quality service levels look like. The presentation will conclude with an overview of O&M university training programs available in Canada and information about becoming a certified orientation and mobility specialist (COMS).
