Michele Jones is on secondment from Black Gold Regional Schools. Michele has worked in the educational field since 1996. She recently completed a year as a full time instructional coach, working primarily with beginning teachers. She has taught a wide variety of subjects, in divisions 1, 2 and 3. She has led numerous professional learning opportunities, such as ‘peer walk-throughs’ and the cross-curricular competencies sessions at the school level. She was an AISI lead teacher for 5 years and has been a Health Champion lead teacher since 2007. Michele holds a Masters of Education degree in the area of Educational Leadership. She is also a certified Google Educator. She is passionate about all things that support our Alberta student and adult learners in today’s fast paced world.

AllThe Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium (ERLC) is hosting a ½ year Professional Learning Network from February 2017 to June 2017. Instructional coaches will meet monthly to engage in personal professional learning that includes professional dialogue, networking and reflection.
The goals of this project are to:
- Engage in discussions on how the Essential Conditions for Instructional Coaching, which are based on the Alberta Education’s A Guide to Support Implementation: Essential Conditions are “lived” in each individual's context.
- Explore research related to the instructional coaching role; connect research to your own practice; and reflect on implications for your work as leader in your school.
Details
- The series will begin with a half day orientation session in February, followed up with four half-day sessions.
- At each session, you will engage in professional learning opportunities to review current research; share artifacts, discuss/reflect on implications for your work as an instructional coach.
You should attend with the understanding that this will be a working group. You will need to come with your materials, and a laptop in order to maximize the opportunity for learning.
