This session is designed for classroom teachers who have a degree of familiarity and have been implementing the Words Their Way™ Developmental Action Model as part of the writing process.

You are encouraged to bring student work samples and share best practices in small table groups.

In this session, you will:

  • Look more closely at questions and concerns arising from Word Study in daily practice (scheduling, classroom management, struggling learners, analyzing the spelling inventories)
  • Discuss and share with peers successes and challenges in “pulling it all together” within a balanced literacy approach
  • Examine strategies that promote on-going literacy achievement in using Words Their Way

Strategies and success stories will be documented, consolidated, and provided back to the learners in this session.
