Understanding addiction prevention requires moving beyond the negative impacts of addiction and shifting our focus to the positives, like asset building and supportive environments. Come learn about the bright side of addiction prevention where we will explore and discuss together:

  • The ways in which substance use impacts the health and well-being of students and the whole-school community
  • How addiction prevention relates to your work
  • What works - best practices resources and strategies

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Have an understanding of what addiction prevention is and how it works
  • Have confidence in your ability to contribute to addiction prevention at your school
  • Be aware of practical strategies you can implement at your school

Target Audience

All Teachers, Administrators, District Leaders, Educational Assistants, Parents, Counselors, Social Workers, Therapists and everyone helping to promote mental wellness, social-emotional learning and healthy relationships in children.
