Andrea Jewers started her career as a sign language interpreter in the school system in Nova Scotia. After moving to Calgary, Andrea found Renfrew Educational Services and has been with the agency for 15 years. In that time she has worked as a Child Development Facilitator, Therapy Assistant for SLP, OT, and PT, and as an Assistive Technology Assistant. Andrea has been working with Assistive Technology for 9 years, supporting children ages 3-12. She is able to program a wide variety of communication devices and has developed many low-mid tech communication options for children. Andrea has been a TouchChat Certified Trainer since January 2016.
Pam Jung is an occupational therapist working with students in the Calgary area in a variety of educational settings. She supports students in many areas including assistive technology. Pam has worked with students who access technology through direct methods (e.g. touch, eye gaze) and indirect methods (e.g. switches, joystick). She is familiar with high tech devices and iPads, as well as a variety of low tech and paper based options. Pam has been a TouchChat Certified Trainer since January 2016.
Kathleen Engel is a speech-language pathologist working with students in the Calgary area, primarily in early education settings. She works with students, classrooms, and families to support communication development in a variety of modalities, including the use of assistive technology. Kathleen has worked with students who demonstrate a variety of communication needs, and is familiar with a variety high- and low-tech communication options. This is Kathleen’s second year providing support on the assistive technology team.
