Jaime Beck completed her doctoral work in the Centre for Research for Teacher Education and Development (CRTED) at the University of Alberta. Her dissertation, Teachers Experiences of Negotiating Stories to Stay by, continued to explore themes taken up in her award-winning master’s thesis, Breaking the Silence: Beginning Teachers Share Pathways Out of the Profession, which she completed at the University of British Columbia.
Jaime was also a researcher on the Alberta Teachers’ Association’s 5-year study, The Early Years of Practice. Jaime’s unique insights into the experiences of teachers have grown over these years of research and teaching, and have inspired her current commitment to offering teachers the knowledge and skills required to first reach their full potential as educators, and then to sustain that success within ever-changing contexts. As a teacher professional development facilitator, Jaime is known for creating highly engaging and authentic spaces in which educators can reflect upon, and find ways to proactively meet, the many demands of their chosen profession.
