This workshop by Box Cars author Jane Felling, will focus on providing teachers with the tools to help their schools plan and host three types of family math nights. Ideas for collaborating with PACs, advertising, different organizational formats and themes, as well as ideas for building community buy-in will be shared.

You will leave with extensive planning tools and three math game outlines to share with your schools and families.  You will also receive three outlines and learn and play the games for a family math card game night, dice game night, and domino math game night. The games will focus on the topics parents typically request and will include fact fluency, operations, and place value concepts.

Hosting engaging family nights provides schools an opportunity to connect with their families, build parental support and develop a whole community of learners. Come prepared to play and take away ideas to use immediately.
