The Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) curriculum is an opportunity for teachers to apply the design thinking process to develop high interest, challenge based courses. Alberta Learning has given teachers a great deal of latitude to create classes that engage and motivate students through real world, hands on projects and experiences.

This interactive two day workshop will engage you in exploring the learning outcomes that guide the CTF curriculum, and in learning the principles of Project Based Learning (PBL). Through a combination of direct instruction, video analysis and hands-on collaborative work, you will have the opportunity to plan and design an engaging and rigorous project for your students. Be prepared to provide/receive formative feedback about your project from your colleagues.

By the end of the two days, you will have a complete project that directly aligns with the CTF Program of Study and includes effective formative and summative assessment practices. You will walk away from the workshop with a project that is "ready" to introduce to your students!
