AllThis interactive two day workshop will begin by learning about the essential elements of Project Based Learning (PBL). With this foundational knowledge, you will then have the opportunity to plan and design an engaging and rigorous project with focus on First Nation, Metis and Inuit culture. Project ideas could include: First Nations, Metis and Inuit perspectives, experiences and ways of knowing, or aspects of the history and legacy of residential schools, or projects related to treaties, or projects related to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommendations. A First Nations, Metis and Inuit consultant will be available to provide advice, knowledge, and support as you plan your project.
By the end of the two days, you will have a complete First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) project that directly aligns with Alberta's Programs of Study, and includes effective formative and summative assessment practices and is ready to use in your classroom!
