This learning opportunity will review the seven (Anishnabe/Ojibwe) Grandfather Teachings as passed down through the generations. Throughout the day, we will also discuss the animals that have been associated with each of the teachings and how these animals use the gifts given to them by the creator.

Using literature as a base, we will explore how we can introduce our students to these teachings throughout the curriculum. We will discuss the importance of these teachings within our everyday lives in relation to character education, as well as their importance in understanding the survival of our Aboriginal peoples throughout the historical past. You will participate in activities that you can use in your classrooms to aid in the understanding of these teachings, as well as discussing other ideas that may present themselves through our discussions.
