This two day camp is designed to provide educators with an rich cultural experience. Indigenous facilitators from Maskwacis Cultural College, local elders, and staff from Palisades and Grande Yellowhead School Division will guide participants through a series of interactive indoor and outdoor experiences such as smudging, art, dancing, Talking Circles, First Nations, Métis and Inuit histories, Tipi teachings, Cree language, connections to Mother Earth, and the legacy of residential schools. Participants will leave the camp with a deeper appreciation of First Nations, Métis and Inuit ways of knowing, histories and perspectives and will explore educational resources and lessons they can use in their classrooms and schools.
