AllFinding a just-right book that matches student’s interests and reading level, is appealing and age respectful for students with significant cognitive disabilities can be a huge challenge. Join us for this hands-on workshop (a.k.a. “book-making bee”) where participants will learn how to create books for (and with) their students based on authentic writing tasks and reflect student interests.
The books might include social stories, personal stories and reflections, retellings and informational writing to support curriculum outcomes such as in science and mathematics. Participants will spend a good part of the day creating books that can be used with students the next day!
