AllWe have created multiple opportunities for you to visit schools during the 2015-2016 school year in Edmonton and surrounding areas who have begun implementing the Career and Technology Foundations Programs of Study.
You will have the opportunity to see aspects of their programs in operation and hear about the journey the school has been on. There will be time for questions with school staff, opportunities to network with others and time to begin planning for the implementation in your own school.
Westmount is in its first year of delivering the Career Transition Foundation option program. Westmount has transitioned from nine option choices annually to forty-four, including some seasonal offerings, over a rotating quarterly schedule. Westmount is a grade seven to nine program that is home to 225 students. The key focus for our school and this CTF program is that of engagement through projects that peak the interest of our students. Westmount focuses on options/electives that are high school based, career oriented and reliant on teacher strengths.
