Guided math takes place in a numeracy-rich environment where both large group and small group instruction are used to meet the needs of all learners. Guided Math is an instructional framework that provides a structure for teachers to differentiate instruction. Teachers support each child’s development of mathematical proficiency at increasing levels of difficulty, within the context of a small group based on their readiness level.

This session will provide opportunities to learn about Guided Math and how to implement this structure to allow for differentiation of instruction in meaningful ways to reach all learners. You will explore how to effectively utilize small-group instruction as well as ways to plan math stations that will engage learners in purposeful practice and help them move to the next level of understanding.

This will be a hands-on session. You will leave with sample activities to try in your own classrooms the next day.
