The purpose of this EYE-TA training session is to provide you with suggestions to easily incorporate the EYE within your regular classroom routines, provide an in-depth understanding of the EYE-TA class reports and how these reports are helping to inform educational planning. The afternoon session will emphasize creating intentional/purposeful play-based centres.

9:00 am Introductions and general overview of the EYE- TA
9:20 am Navigating the online data entry site – live demonstration
9:50 am Interpreting the Class Reports – an in depth overview
10:40 am Short Break
11:00 am Strategies for sharing data and information about children’s learning
11:30 am After the reports – suggestions for activities Kindergarten teachers can employ to strengthen the literacy skills of children identified with Tier 2 or Tier 3 learning needs
12:00-1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm Strategies for effectively incorporating the EYE–TA into your classroom – thinking outside the box when collecting data
1:30 pm Sharing ideas to easily assess a couple of those “tricky” EYE-TA items
1:45 pm Hands on activity: Building intentional/purposeful centres –     play-based learning
3:15 pm Prizes and Final Q & A
