7-9, 10-12This one day workshop is designed for teachers who have introduced project based learning to their students, and now wish to better align their projects to Alberta’s Programs of Study, as well as fine tune their formative and summative assessment practices. Questions that will be addressed at this session include:
- How do I know my students are learning what I want them to learn?
- What do I assess?
- How do I provide formative assessment?
- How do I involve students in the assessment process?
- How do I assess group work?
- How do I gather and record evidence of learning?
- How do I use that evidence to give a "mark" to each student at the end of the project?
Join us in this full day session to refine your planning and assessment practices in the area of project based learning. We ask that you bring a project that you have recently completed, are currently working on with your students, or are just starting to develop. We will engage in you a process of examining your project, from beginning to end, to identify the learner outcomes and incorporate both formative and summative assessment opportunities that will result in deep student learning.
Note: This session is designed for teachers who have taken the project based learning two day or three day workshop.
