This session will provide specific ideas on how to explicitly model, prompt and reinforce effective strategic actions in reading. Based on your observations of student reading behaviors, you can use these tools to strengthen and empower developing readers as they build their literacy processing systems.

In addition, key reading strategies will be shared that can be used with students to promote thinking and deepen comprehension when reading.

Research and ideas shared in this session are derived from Fountas and Pinnell, Goodvis and Harvey, Keene and Zimmermann, and Jan Richardson.
