Kim Tackaberry graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa in 1991 and earned her additional qualifications dissertation as a Specialist in Special Education. Kim’s teaching career expands over twenty years, most of which was spent at Foothills Academy teaching grades 3 through 9, a centre for children with Learning Disabilities. As Professional Development & Parent Education Manager at Foothills Academy, her mandate is to educate the larger community about the most effective strategies and programs available to meet the needs of individuals with learning disabilities. Over the past ten years, Kim has presented specific reading and writing programs as well as strategies to educators in districts across Canada. She is honored to be the only certified Precision Reading Trainer internationally and grateful of the knowledge she has gained from working alongside the creator, Dr. Rick Freeze.
