Rhonda Murphy (B.Ed.), a certified AIM facilitator and mentor teacher, has taught FSL to junior high students for over a decade with Edmonton Public School Board. Encouraged by her students’ ability to communicate spontaneously and seulement en français, she strives to make each passing year more AIM friendly.

4-6, 7-9These workshops are for teachers who want to make their classroom more AIM friendly, review the basics and go deeper into the pedagogy and language refinement. As well, these workshops will invite teachers to reflect upon their current AIM practices and share with other AIM teachers their successes and/or frustrations in the following areas:
- What is/should be driving your instruction and are you meeting the outcomes of the AB Program of Studies and Program Articulation Document?
- How do you successfully teach the fields of experience/sub-fields while still keeping your classroom AIM friendly?
- When teaching, are you mindful of AIM’s guiding principles? What are they again?
- What is Gestural Mirroring & TLSE and are you using them effectively with your students?
- How do you teach “Vous and Nous”?
- How do you teach the “Past, Present and Future Verb Tenses”?
- How do you use the grammar raps and the code pour corriger les erreurs to promote language refinement?
- How do you write and present a story retelling and/or a story extension?
- How can the AIM Language Learning Website support your program?”
This workshop is in English with French examples and is geared towards elementary/junior high teachers with one or more years of AIM teaching experience.

- FSL 9 year Programs of Study (hard copy or online copy)
- Articulation Guide to Implementation (hard copy or online copy)
- Copy of FSL unit/year plan(s)
- Pencil
- Highlighter
