Karla Holt currently works part-time with Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools as a learning coach supporting technology for diversity. She also facilitates professional learning on integrating technology into the curriculum for Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium. Prior to this, Karla taught elementary grades at a technology specialist school and a technology outreach centre in England where technology was at the centre of all lessons. Karla has two boys, aged 9 and 4, who continually teach her new apps and technology tools to use.

AllLooking for ways to support diverse learners in the inclusive classroom? The iPad is an effective tool to enable all students to become engaged thinkers who use technology to learn, communicate and discover. In addition, various apps and tools can help personalize learning and allow students to develop multiple literacies.
This session will explore some of the built-in accessibility features of the iPad as well as exploring apps to support students with reading, writing, basic mathematics, daily schedules as well as investigating various apps that allow students to create and share knowledge.
In this learning opportunity you will:
- explore text to speech features and apps supporting speech to text.
- explore apps which allow students to demonstrate their learning through images, video and/or voice recordings.
- consider various apps to support reading, writing, basic mathematics and scheduling.
- investigate ways of quickly and easily sharing and/or showcasing content created on an iPad.
