AllIn September 2012, Michael Strembitsky School (MSS) opened with a vision focused on authentic learning for a 21st century world.
In an effort to reconceptualize teaching and learning, the Faculty at MSS has focused on practices such as cross-disciplinary projects that develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills, in addition to supporting competency development within our local context.
During this Demonstration Visit, you will learn about our vision for and approach to school improvement, professional learning, resource acquisition, curriculum design mapping, instructional and assessment approaches, and more. Hear presentations from our School Leadership Team and see learning in action in Kindergarten to Grade 9 classrooms!
You will meet with MSS Faculty over the lunch hour to engage in conversations about how our teaching and learning focuses on student interests and abilities, technology integration that fosters understanding, and strategies used to engage the local community as key partners. In addition to learning more about the MSS journey to foster authentic learning, opportunities will be provided for you to ask questions and network with new colleagues.
