This workshop equips school and system leaders with the skills and lens needed to effectively observe and support teachers working with learners of English as an Additional Language (EAL). Using a structured observation guide, participants will learn how to identify the instructional moves, scaffolds, and learning conditions that promote language development, access to content, and meaningful engagement for multilingual learners.

Leaders will explore key look-fors such as explicit language objectives, opportunities for student engagement, language and learning intentions, use of scaffolds and visuals, differentiation, assessment practice, The session emphasizes what effective EAL-responsive instruction looks and sounds like in real classrooms, how to gather evidence and use that evidence to provide clear, actionable feedback to teachers.
