Learning Opportunities

Michelle Skene (OCT) is Rubicon's/MathUP's National Math Consultant and has worked as an educational leader in the fields of mathematics and assessment for more than 30 years. Along with being a school principal in Ottawa, Michelle enjoyed a career with the OCDSB in the role of educator, and math coach/consultant/coordinator. She also worked as a seconded professor at the University of Ottawa, and as a provincial math consultant and textbook author. Michelle's Ministry of Education experience includes participation on the EOSDN steering committee for a joint research project in mathematics with Queen’s University, and she was a lead member of the Ministry's “Guide to Effective Instruction in Math” district development team. As Rubicon's National Math Consultant she now supports school districts, principals, and educators across Canada with professional learning in mathematics.
