Come and join a monthly cohort to discuss possible transformational changes to your assessment techniques in your classroom. As a group, you will get to hear some research driven changes you can make in your class that promotes learning through your entire assessment process. We will work and guide you towards an outcome-based assessment classroom and away from traditional assessment practices such as "Tests, Quizzes, Assignments, etc".
By meeting monthly, you can come with your questions, roadblocks, and other ideas you might have as the year or semester progresses. Dave will lead you through the following steps:
1) Determining your essential outcomes of your course
2) Redesigning ways students can demonstrate understanding through observations, conversations and products
3) Responding to learners who are having troubles achieving acceptable standards of understanding
4) Ending your year/semester with a celebration of learning.
