Join us as we learn engaging activities that will help you teach the new fraction outcomes in grade 6, and allow you and your students to have fun at the same time! Ulana will share teaching strategies that will help your students build an understanding of operations with fractions. She will share strategies for teaching fractions by connecting the abstract to the concrete with physical and visual models. You will learn how to relate fractions to quotients, use fluency-building fraction activities to engage students when adding and subtracting fractions with denominators within 100 and interpret the multiplication of natural numbers by fractions.
