This session will focus on the Organizing Ideas: Geometry and Coordinate Geometry
specifically looking at the understanding of the following Learning Outcomes:
Geometry
· Students investigate symmetry as a geometric property.
Coordinate Geometry
· Students relate location to position on a grid.
This session for grade 5 will focus on understanding the changes, key vocabulary, and how the Knowledge, Understandings, Skills and Procedures work together to help bring understanding to the learning outcome.
Specific strategies for learning and teaching as well as support resources will be shared as part of the learning.
An in depth session on teaching strategies and the use of manipulatives relating to the outcomes will Nov.1, 23
