This session will focus on the Organizing Idea: Number, specifically looking at the understanding of the following Learning Outcomes:
Grade 4
· Students explain properties of prime and composite numbers using multiplication and division.
Grade 5
· Students determine divisibility of natural numbers
Grade 6
· Students analyze numbers using prime factorization and exponentiation
This session for grade 4 – 6 as well as combined grades will focus on understanding the changes, key vocabulary, and how the Knowledge, Understandings, Skills and Procedures work together to help bring understanding to the learning outcome.
Specific strategies for learning and teaching as well as support resources will be shared as part of the learning.
