Today's assessment landscape can be easily supported by integrating educational technologies that provide students with more voice, choice and subsequent ownership of their learning.

When students have agency in being able to show what they know over time, through collaborative brainstorming, conversations, quick little self-grading formative assessments, creative presentations, and so much more, they not only create an authentic record of their learning, but also pick up and practice twenty-first century competencies along the way. The challenge is, where is the teacher in all this?

In this session, we'll explore:
- What valid online assessment looks like
- Formative assessment tools (such as Lumio, Pear Deck and Google Forms) that can shape instruction and track learning over time
- Simple media-creation tools (such as Mote, Flipgrid and Screencastify) that can inspire students to show what they know in ways other than just through text
- How co-created criteria can be used to collaboratively construct a matrix of assessment tools and strategies that help us choose the best tool for the task moving forward by leveraging our collective wisdom

Leave this session with a co-created and teacher-validated list of tools and strategies that you can tap into when planning your next steps in your classroom assessment journey.
