Learning Opportunities

PART 1- April 17, 2023:

This session will focus on the Organizing Idea: Number, specifically looking at the understanding of the following Learning Outcomes:
- Students apply place value to decimal numbers.
- Students add and subtract within 10 000, including decimal numbers to hundredths.
- Students explain properties of prime and composite numbers using multiplication and division.
- Students multiply and divide natural numbers within 10 000.

These initial sessions for grade 4 will focus on understanding the changes, key vocabulary, and how the Knowledge, Understandings, Skills and Procedures work together to help bring understanding to the learning outcome.

Specific strategies for learning and teaching as well as resources will be shared in subsequent sessions.

PART 2- April 25, 2023:

This session will focus on the Organizing Idea: Number, specifically looking at the understanding of thefollowing Learning Outcomes:
- Students apply equivalence to the interpretation of fractions.
- Students interpret percentages.
These initial sessions for grade 4 will focus on understanding the changes, key vocabulary, and how the Knowledge, Understandings, Skills and Procedures work together to help bring understanding to the learning outcome.
