Digital Breakout or Digital Escape Room activities have provided many teachers with a fun way to engage students in fun curricular-based activities that challenge participants to use their distributed knowledge and abilities to solve a problem together. Competing against other groups in the classroom, the first team to solve the puzzles that reveal the knowledge needed to solve the narrative problem at the start of the breakout is the winner!
With Google Sites, Forms, Slides and more, we can better manage a physical breakout activity, facilitate a blended physical/digital breakout, and/or challenge students with an entirely digital breakout. In this session we'll deconstruct a relatively straightforward digital literacy-focused breakout, and demonstrate how to create one from scratch. Interested in solving the challenge beforehand (optional)?
